The sports fashion brand ASICS installed a floor at the new ASICS Brisbane Concept store that was as fast and visually striking as the shop’s trainers!

The store’s designers required an ultra modern and stylish floor finish that would complement the interior design scheme that had been devised to convey the client’s sleek and contemporary brand identity.

To achieve this Mondéco Rapide, the latest flooring development from Flowcrete Australia, was chosen for the task in a bespoke colour. This fit-for-purpose solution consisted of a custom grey base colour combined with a dappled black-and-white marble aggregate blend tailored to ASICS’ image. The floor was completed in a satin effect to put a finishing touch on its stylish, urban aesthetic.

Mondéco Rapide is a hybrid of traditional terrazzo and rapid curing methyl methacrylate (MMA) resin technology. The system is highly durable, flexible, fast-curing and decorative, making it the ideal choice for retail, boutique, commercial, leisure and public facilities. 

ASICS’ Brisbane store was a refurbishment of a previous retail tenancy and the flexible nature of Mondéco Rapide allowed the system to be laid over a variety of substrates including concrete, concrete repair mortars and tiles.

Approximately 80 m² of Mondéco Rapide was installed over a two-day period. The short time-scale of the flooring project meant that the new finish was ready well in advance of the store’s grand opening.
