The museum forms part of the operational Sydney No 1 Fire Station and houses historical machinery, equipment and uniforms.
As a heritage listed site it was important for the museum to maintain its proud image and as such it decided to replace its monochrome floor coating with Flowcrete’s decorative Peran Flake System at a thickness of 2-3mm.
180m2 of the eye-catching Peran Flake system was installed in a volcanic ash shade. The seamless, glossy and chemical resistant decorative flooring system is also available in a range of flake finishes.
Peran Flake is particularly well suited for use in retail outlets as well as restaurants, schools and hospitals where it combines strength with a glamorous finish.
To protect the decorative flooring from sunlight damage and discolouration three coats of Deckshield UVWB Satin seal coat was added, which also provided a stunning matt finish for the popular museum.
The client was thrilled with the end result and Flowcrete Australia is proud to have played its part in maintaining the upkeep of one of the country’s heritage listed sites.
