As part of an overall major refurbishment to the TAFE, the Fashon Precinct was undergoing a significant refit. Part of the work included a major upgrade to the flooring in the entrance and classrooms.
IA Design architects required a floor finish that was going to be extremely robust as well as provide a decorative ‘industrial’ look to fit the overall aesthetics of the building. 2000m2 of Mondeco Rapide (PUMMA Terrazzo) installed by specialist applicator Multiblast Industrial Flooring, provided exactly this.
Resin-based terrazzos are the most robust and long-lasting of all resin floor finishes. The seamless nature allowed this to be applied throughout the facility providing a uniform seamless finish. Various grades of non-slip finish were incorporated across the floors from a P3 to a P5 slip-resistant finish to ensure safety in wet areas. A grey tone was selected with locally sourced white marble as the main aggregate.
