As part of a programme of renovation works at Air New Zealand's maintenance hangar at Auckland Airport, the company required a suitable hard flooring system for installation in all of the facility's main workshops and corridors.
After being asked by the client to install a trial area within the hangar, Flowcrete Australia later supplied 3000m2 of its epoxy resin flooring systems, Flowcoat OP and Flowseal UV, following a successful evaluation of the products in-situ.
Flowcoat OP is a hardwearing, solvent free epoxy resin coating system, which has proved a popular choice in large industrial spaces on account of its excellent chemical resistance properties.
The system provides an ideal platform for clients in the aviation industry on account of its high resistance to fuels and grease.
Used to provide a coloured UV stable and highly resilient seal coat, Flowseal UV was later installed on top of the Flowcoat OP system for additional durability and wear resistance.
The project, which saw the installation of two bold grey tones, also included instructional markings and signage applied to the floor to designate walkways and working bays.
