To find a suitable system that was up to the challenge, the expertise of Flowcrete Australia were called upon.
Flowcrete's hybrid polyurethane and methyl methacrylate (PUMMA) resin-based deck coating system, Deckshield ED Rapide, was chosen for the 600 m2 area thanks to its flexible nature and crack-bridging properties.
The rapid curing deck coating system was installed throughout the ground level car park and on the entrance ramp to the basement level parking area. The waterproof PUMMA system was selected to prevent leaks coming through cracks at ground level and potentially damaging vehicles in the basement car park.
Installed in the AS2700 colour Koala Grey alongside white line marking, the car park complemented the building facade by blending with the architectural style of the site.
This system provided an aesthetically pleasing deck coating that also delivered abrasion, slip and fire resistance, so the client could rest assured that the car park was both safe and visually appealing to residents.
Thanks to the rapid curing properties of Deckshield ED Rapide, the installation was completed within six days and the car park was ready to welcome residents.
