The bridge was built as part of the $1.1 billion northern Sydney freight corridor project that will upgrade to the Newcastle Rail Link.
A flooring solution was required to cover the existing metal panel floor surface of the 34mtr footbridge, situated in Pennant Hills, New South Wales.
140m2 of Flowfast SRQ in a grey blend was selected owing to its durability, rapid cure time and bonding properties. The system was installed on top of each panel, rather than being laid seamlessly over the joints, as the metal panels were subject to substantial movement.
The completed system features a non-slip aggregate tailored to reach an R11 slip resistant rating and provide Pennant Hills Train Station with an attractive, durable, safe underfoot platform for its new footbridge.
Flowfast SRQ is a seamless MMA (methyl methacrylate) scatter system, with fast curing properties that keep construction programs to a minimum.
