KL Gateway

Kuala Lumpur’s brand new shopping centre, KL Gateway Mall, is a modern township development combining shops, residences and offices.

Situated at the gates of the city, the mall connects to several major highways, drawing in large crowds from the regions 1.9 million daily commuters. Taking inspiration from exotic cultures and motifs around the world, the mall creates an amazing public space that offers high-end fashion, food, leisure and entertainment.

For its brand new car park, CHY Architect wanted to create an inviting space that implemented a sustainable design and called upon Flowcrete Asia to provide its green label certified, low VOC, solvent free, polyurethane car park deck coating system Deckshield ID, due to its ability to cosmetically enhance and reduce noise, making multi-storey car parks brighter and safer environments to visit. 

Flowcrete Asia supplied over 30,000m² of the high performance resin flooring system in a variety of bespoke colours to create a colourful, watertight and robust surface that could withstand the car park’s challenging conditions as well as enhance the site’s aesthetic. 

Crisp yellow lines were used to outline parking bays with bold purple, green and pink colours used to distinguish car pooling, ladies only and disabled parking bays. For pedestrian walkways, a bright blue colour was chosen with contrasting white signage to guide visitors to and from the mall.


Deckshield traffic coating systems are available in a wide-range of attractive colours and finishes, with the option to create bright demarcation lines and signage to help regulate traffic movement and leave a welcoming impression on vehicle users.
