Bannister Downs Dairy

Flowcrete Australia Supply Cream of the Crop Flooring

Bannister Downs Dairy is a family owned farm, cared for by four generations of the Daubney family. Although founded in 1924, it was the deregulation of the dairy industry in the millennium year that led to plans and the subsequent launch of the creamery facility in 2018.

Equipped with world-leading technology, the award-winning facility achieves the highest standard of product quality, as well as providing the ultimate in care for the dairy herd. Every aspect of the creamery was considered in pursuit of excellence from the ground up. To help with this, Flowcrete Australia was consulted for ideal flooring options.

To maintain unrivalled hygiene and reflect brand identity, Flowfresh SR was specified in custom colours of light grey, blue, cream and powder blue. The 6mm gloss system was used throughout the creamery, including in the dairy, silo area, kitchen, processing room, mixing space, ingredients room and many more areas, spanning 2,350 m2 of flooring in total.

Flowfresh SR was even suitable for the working cool room, freezer and cool storage room areas thanks to its temperature resistance from -15 °C to 90 °C.

Thanks to its high abrasion resistance, the client could also utilise the HACCP International certified flooring system in areas such as the loading dock and processing room, which would experience heavy machinery, vehicles and the likelihood of dropped items.

The seamless nature of the polyurethane resin system also meant that cleaning the floor would be much easier, with bacteria having no joints to hide in. Alongside a regular cleaning regime, the inclusion of Polygiene®, an additive that kills up to 99.9% of bacteria meant that the facility could be maintained to the highest hygiene standard.

The facility opened its doors in December 2018, and is looking ahead to including an onsite café in the near future.
