Highgate Hill Car Park

High Performance Floors Refurbish Highgate Hill Car Park

Located in a Queensland suburb, the privately-owned apartment car park in Dornoch Terrace, Highgate Hill, was refurbished due to the poor condition of the existing floor, which was badly worn and generating dust when vehicles moved across the surface.

For the revitalisation of the floor area, the client called upon Flowcrete Australia to recommend a long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing flooring system that would keep residents and visitors safe.

In the car park, 3,000 m2 of Flowprime was applied primarily for added durability of the car park’s surface. This was then coated with 3,000 m2 of the low VOC, slip resistant car park deck coating system Deckcoat EP.

Specified in Light Grey and Steel Blue, the car park also features line marking which added both functionality and brightness. The bold Steel Blue was used to separate visitor and disabled parking from the numbered parking bays for residents. Line marking was also used to highlight ‘give-way’ points and walkways, making the car park safer for pedestrians and drivers alike.

With the highly durable primer Flowprime alongside the added abrasion resistance of Deckcoat EP, the client could rest assured that the new deck coating system could withstand daily traffic without wearing and creating dust.

Fire resistance was also a huge benefit of this system, especially when supporting vehicles that run off highly combustible gases and oil. Cleaning, as well as the spillages themselves also posed a lesser risk to car park users, thanks to the incorporated slip resistance of Deckcoat EP.

The installation was completed within two weeks, ready to welcome residents and guests of Highgate Hill.
