Miele was specifically looking for a modern, contemporary & seamless floor finish for the new 1,800m2 showroom, to incorporate it's distinct corporate design. Originally specifying a natural stone solution to be supplied in panels, the designer chose to instead use Mondéco Crystal Ice, a seamless and highly decorative epoxy resin terrazzo floor finish, which offered the additional benefit of in-situ installation.
As well as being able to successfully match the exact colour of the original stone specification, Mondéco Crystal Ice could also be used to create pre-cast stair treads and risers, offering a completely seamless aesthetic.
Containing 45% recycled materials, the Mondéco Crystal Ice material also enabled the client to qualify for LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credits from the Emirates Green Building Council. Flowcrete Middle East was favourably qualified for the following criteria: recycled content (both preconsumer and post-consumer, low emitting materials (low VOC content), recyclable packaging and local production.
The 1,800m2 of Mondéco Crystal Ice, were produced locally, resulting in the project being completed within the tight program, and avoiding any delay to the showroom's opening.
