Queen Victoria Building - Valet Carpark

Flowcrete has been involved with a fast-track flooring project at the Queen Victoria Building - one of Sydney's most iconic buildings and shopping centres.

Originally built in 1898 and affectionately known as QVB, the centre was carefully refurbished to deliver a classy but contemporary shopping experience, still reminiscent of the late 19th Century.

To further enhance the visitor experience, the owners of QVB decided to add a valet parking service. To ensure the high standards that shoppers except were maintained, QVB wanted a suitable floor finish to match the surroundings.

A further requirement was that the valet parking facility remain operational and not be disrupted during the renovation. Flowcrete proposed its Flowfast MMA resin flooring system as the solution, a decorative fast-curing seamless floor finish which can be ready to receive traffic just two hours after installation.

The work was completed over two nights, ensuring the valet parking remained open for business as usual. On the first night the existing floor finishes were removed and the concrete substrate prepared.

On the second night the Flowfast system was installed. By 6am the valet area was open for business with a brand new bespoke floor finish fit for the surroundings. Both the owners and operators were delighted with the end result.
