  • Flowcrete Australia showcases new aquatic flooring range at Splash!
  • Flowsports Aquatic provides flooring solutions for multiple areas of any leisure facility.
  • Swimming pool venues require specialist flooring properties to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.

At this year’s Splash! Pool & Spa Trade Show, Flowcrete Australia will be unveiling its brand-new collection of swimming pool flooring solutions - the Flowsports Aquatic range.

Splash!, which is taking place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from 1-2 August, provides the perfect platform for Australia’s pool, spa and aquatics industry professionals to discover the sector’s latest trends and technologies.

On stand 201 of the show, attendees can find out how the Flowsports Aquatic range is able to optimise the floor area throughout a leisure facility. This recently launched collection of resin coatings has been specially developed to provide decorative, safe and durable flooring solutions for multiple areas around a swimming pool, such as the internal and external pool concourses, walkways, amenities, change rooms and grandstand seating zones.

The designers and operators of aquatic, leisure and recreation facilities know that the practicalities of daily operations will expose the floor to a long list of challenges, from large quantities of water to corrosive cleaning chemicals, impacts, foot traffic and more. Additionally, the floor also has to minimise the potential for slips and trips, facilitate a sanitary environment and help to create a fun, enjoyable and energetic atmosphere.

Flowcrete Australia’s six new Flowsports Aquatic finishes includes epoxy, hybrid, polyurethane and methyl methacrylate resin formulations to ensure that there’s a solution to meet any demand.

For example, the decorative epoxy system Flowcoat SRQ, made using coloured quartz granules, is ideal for internal applications such as pool surrounds, walkways, change rooms and amenities, while Flowsports SRQ PU can be specified for areas that require enhanced moisture tolerance properties.

For facilities with a very small window of time to apply the floor there’s Flowfast SRQ, which can be installed on top of most existing coatings and has a very fast rate of cure that significantly reduces the application timescale.

The low VOC, flexible, textured, solid colour polyurethane based system Deckshield ID and the MMA resin-based Deckshield ED Rapide provide enhanced protection against impacts, UV rays and chemicals for internal and external areas respectively.

All the systems in the new range create seamless and impervious surfaces that can be laid to a fall and incorporate drainage. These properties ensure that the floor area is very easy to clean and that water can quickly wash away before it can pose a hazard.

Slip resistance is a critical factor for aquatic centres and every Flowsports Aquatic floor actively enhances traction underfoot, minimising the risk of slips and trips in what is inevitably a very wet and slippery environment.
